Westbourne House Residents Showcase Creativity Through Social Inclusion Art Project
Residents at Westbourne House have been working closely with local artist Amy Precious as part of an inspiring social inclusion art workshop, designed to encourage creativity, confidence, and community participation.
The project has provided a welcoming and supportive space for residents to express themselves through art, develop new skills, and connect with others. Throughout the workshops, participants have demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm and commitment, producing a range of impressive artwork while building confidence in their creative abilities.
Reflecting on the success of the project, Amy said:
“I am insanely grateful for all the participants who contributed and feel that this has been a really valuable project for the service users, especially a select few who have been excessively drawing since day one, continuously attending the workshops and submitting some amazing work. It has been incredible, and even better to share that pride with them. I am so excited for Pier Street now, which will be the second exhibition on 28th September.”
Amy's feedback highlights the positive impact the workshops have had on those involved. Particular recognition goes to the residents who have attended consistently from the very beginning, dedicating time and effort to developing their artistic talents and contributing outstanding pieces of work.
The project is a wonderful example of how creative activities can support social inclusion, helping individuals to build confidence, discover new interests, and take pride in their achievements. It has also provided an opportunity for residents to have their work celebrated and shared with a wider audience.
The success of the workshops will continue with a second exhibition at Pier Street on 28th September, where participants will once again have the opportunity to showcase their artwork and celebrate everything they have achieved.
This is fantastic recognition of the creativity, commitment, and hard work shown by everyone involved. A huge thank you to Amy Precious for her dedication and encouragement, and to all those who supported the project and helped make it such a positive experience for our residents.
We look forward to sharing more updates as the project continues and celebrating the success of the upcoming exhibition.
